Port Moresby, January 18, 2016 –The Philippines Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCCI) and Powercity Corporation met government officials of Papua New Guinea (PNG) on a mission to strengthen foreign investment and trade relationship.
PCCCI delegates met with PNG’s Prime Minister Peter O’ Neill and various government and private sector representatives. One of the speakers in the government sector was Hon. Patrick Pruaitch, Minister for Treasury of PNG. He said, “There is opportunity for PNG and the Philippines to collaborate more in business. We are rich in natural resources. We need capital and know how. Businesses can make our dream a reality.”
Powercity Corporation President Mr. Wilson Lua discussed with Prime Minister O’Neill and expressed his cooperation with the government by donating 10 generator sets for charity institutions in PNG. Cencon Packaging, a fish canning factory in PNG purchased 2 units of 500 KVA Powercity generator last year.
About 150 companies from China exhibited their products at the first China-Africa trade expo held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia last December 5 to 7, 2013. The expo was organized by China Chamber of Commerce for Machinery, China-Ethiopia Industrial and Commercial Cooperation Forum, China-Ethiopia Electric Power and Energy Cooperation Forum and China-Ethiopia Agricultural Cooperation Forum. Powercity Electromechanical & Equipment Co. Ltd. (PEEC), as one of the exhibitor in the expo, was represented by its President, Mr. Wilson Lua. The expo is believed to boost the trade relations between the two countries.
