Quezon City, November 8, 2017 – Globe Telecom awarded Certificates of Recognition to Powercity and its response team in recognizing their effort and support during the network restoration of its subsidiary Bayantel. In October 8, 2017, Bayantel facility in Diliman, Quezon City encountered extensive battery explosion which prompted Bayantel to call for assistance from its personnel and contractors. Powercity, being the first responder, teamed-up to contain the incident and ran on errand to source out spare batteries from Bayantel Aurora facility. The team of Powercity also assisted in cleaning the debris caused by the incident. Their combined effort were able to restore the facility the next day. Investigation what have caused the incident went underway. Mr. Ronald L. David, Head for Host Exchange Operations of Globe Telecom, led the awarding of certificates of recognition to Eric Costillas, Junrel Gonzales, Ricky Tobias, Relan Balot, Jeric Credo, Genmar Fernandez, and Lauro Pilo.
